MAGNA-TILES® AND AdoptAClassroom.org® Shape Brighter Futures

At MAGNA-TILES®, we’ve always been passionate about supporting classrooms and helping teachers create fun, engaging spaces where kids can learn through play. After all, the MAGNA-TILES® brand got its start in the classroom back in 1997! Our partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org builds on this legacy, and this year, we’re thrilled to continue making a difference by donating MAGNA-TILES® sets and extra funding to over 200 classrooms across the country.

Bringing Play-Based Learning to Classrooms Again in 2024

Right now, play-based learning is getting the spotlight it deserves, especially in states like Connecticut and New Hampshire, where new legislation is making play a core part of early childhood education. It’s great to see more focus on how kids learn best—by playing, exploring, and discovering. In Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms, play helps young minds grow and develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills in a way that feels natural and fun.

Connecticut is leading the charge with new legislation that requires all public schools to incorporate play-based learning from preschool through second grade. The goal? Let kids be curious, creative, and collaborative—without the pressure of traditional academics too early on. The result is a balanced, joyful learning environment where critical thinking and problem-solving naturally bloom.

New Hampshire is right there too, encouraging schools to swap out more rigid teaching methods for hands-on activities and imaginative play. The concept is simple—when kids are free to explore and play, they understand concepts more deeply and are better prepared to apply those skills in the real world.

At MAGNA-TILES®, we’re all in on this play-based learning movement. Our magnetic building sets are already a classroom favorite for fostering creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving—all the good stuff play-based learning is built on.  Through our partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, we’re helping teachers in Connecticut, New Hampshire, and beyond with the resources they need to bring play-based learning to life. With STEM-accredited MAGNA-TILES® sets and funding support, teachers can focus on providing an enriching classroom environment that makes learning fun.

This initiative kicked off on World Teachers’ Day (October 5, 2024), but we’ve got teachers’ backs year-round, with the tools they need to inspire the next generation of engineers, architects and dreamers. We believe in the power of play and are thrilled to be part of this movement that’s making learning more fun and accessible for everyone—and we can’t wait to see what these creative and curious kids build next!
