Happy National Intern Day! Today, we’re thrilled to highlight our first-ever intern, Luke Wehrli, a rising Junior at Montana State University-Bozeman. Over the past few months, Luke has been a fantastic addition to the MAGNA-TILES family. His enthusiasm, creativity, and eagerness to learn have significantly impacted our projects and team dynamics.
To celebrate National Intern Day, we sat down with Luke to get to know him better:
What is your favorite thing about being an intern here?
One of my favorite aspects of being an intern here is the inter and intra-departmental support. It was a huge relief to have so many people eager to answer my questions and even allow me to shadow their positions.
What has been your most memorable moment so far?
I have had many memorable moments, but I have most enjoyed the weekly sales meetings. They are a great way to start each Friday and are filled with so much knowledge and insight from everyone’s years of professional experience. I always leave the meeting with a full page of notes.
If you could switch roles with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?
I would want to switch with our Mechanical Engineer, Henry. Despite studying Finance, I have always been curious about engineering. Every time I walk past his workstation, there is some new and cool project being built or machine buzzing away.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I have received is that the best type of investment is one in yourself. Whether it is to learn or experience something, it is worth it. I used this advice this past spring when I spent 10 days across Germany and Austria visiting friends.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I see myself graduated and three years into my career. I am still figuring out the exact direction of my career path, but it will be something in Finance.
Thank you, Luke, for your contributions and for being an integral part of our journey. We look forward to seeing all the amazing things you’ll achieve in your career!
